Not all laminate floors are the same and you should obtain a copy of the manufacture’s care instructions for your particular floor. Be sure to take a moment to read the instructions so you understand how to properly care for your new floor.
With that said the idea behind caring for your laminate floor is not to damage it with too much moisture or too much abrasion. So think walk off mats at entrances to help keep the outside from coming in. Think felt pads under chairs, table legs and furniture. Use soft clothes for cleaning not the green abrasive side of a kitchen sponge for it can permanently scuff the finish.
I like to use the Bona Floor Cleaner system myself. You can buy the kit that includes the spay bottle, micofiber pad and custom mop handle to hold the pads all together and later just replace the spray bottle. The Bona system helps you use the correct amount of moisture as well as provides the perfect scratch resistant pad for cleaning. It really makes cleaning your floor easy. You can find the Bona Cleaning kit for laminate as well as hardwood, tile and vinyl floors at your local hardware store, department stores, box stores and one line.
Keeping your floor dry and clean will help your laminate floor look great for years to come.
